Abstract submission

We invite you to submit an abstract for a poster, oral, or video presentation. NUGA 2026 also welcomes video abstracts (max. length 10 minutes).

Guidelines for abstract preparation

Abstracts are being sought for NUGA 2026. The meeting is dedicated to the latest advances in research and clinical practice in the field of urogynecology and female urology in the Nordic countries. We invite researchers from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland to submit abstracts covering basic or clinical science in these fields. Abstracts must be submitted in English.

Guidelines for video presentations will follow.

General information

  • Language & length: English; maximum 250 words.
  • Contact: Use the presenting author’s contact details to avoid miscommunication during submission and review.
  • Confirmation: Submission confirmation and acceptance notifications will be sent by email only.
  • Timeline: Abstracts will be rated during December 2025, and authors will be notified shortly after.
  • Multiple submissions: Allowed.
  • Edits: Please proofread carefully before submitting; changes will not be accepted after the call closes.
  • Email: Include a valid email address for confirmations and ongoing communication.
  • Authorship: The presenting author should be listed as the first author when there is more than one author.
  • Editing: Abstracts will not be edited for content; please check for typographical errors.

  • Abstracts must contain original data and meet international ethical standards.
  • Define abbreviations on first use. Trade names are not allowed in the title, but may be included in the body (in brackets).
  • Up to 2 references may be included.

Encore abstracts

NUGA welcomes encore abstracts (previously presented at other international conferences) if they contain updated and additional original analyses/data that have not been presented before. Abstracts already published are not accepted.

Review & notifications

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the NUGA Board. Selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentation. Authors will be notified in late December 2025.

Oral presentation format

  • Language: Presentations in English (slide language optional).
  • Timing: 5 minutes for presentation, followed by a 5-minute discussion (in English or Scandinavian).
  • Slides: We recommend 5–6 PowerPoint slides to illustrate your study.

Poster presentation

Posters selected for presentation can be mounted on the back wall in the main conference room. There will not be a poster walk or designated presentation slot, but you are welcome to present your poster during breaks.

Video abstracts

To enhance visibility and engagement, authors are invited to submit a video abstract in addition to their written abstract. Length: Maximum 5 minutes (MP4 format, 720p or higher recommended). Content: Include title, authors, background, methods, key results, and main conclusions. Style: Talking-head presentation, narrated slides, or a combination with visuals/animations are accepted. Ensure clear audio and readable visuals. Session structure: 5 minutes – Video abstract presentation; 3 minutes – Live discussion & Q&A with the audience.
